Hi folks,
A friend from overseas needs to arrange for work a hire car in the UK - however for reasons unknown to me it MUST be an Audi.

Any suggestions - I vaguely recall some Heathrow Airport based hire company with a premium range, who/do they guarantee a particular car/brand?

Or any Audi dealerships that do this?

Or any other (reputable) sources?

Location might be a constraint - but can ignore for now whilst seeing what options are available.

cheers

I imagine most of the big name rental companies have Audis on their fleets anyway, but if you want to guarantee one then Avis do let you book specific models:

We’ve booked specific vehicles from Enterprise too. Just give them a call and explain.

Interesting - 3 different Audis showing as avaialble to book for next week.
Booking made.
Call received an hour later saying non available.
At least they were able to call quickly on a Sunday.
Strange one - the profile of the driver - age, license etc shouldn't pose a risk.

Cheers. Good shout, thinking about it I've actually done similar for vans at my local branch.

Enterprise also have an Audi page - so they called both Heathrow and a local branch. But both unable to help.

First World problems etc! I now understand the business angle of why trying for an Audi on this occasion. Makes sense to try.

I've suggested they try calling on the day - to try and book whatever is there then. Might be more chance of staff being in a position to help - depending on whether any are lying around.

Never heard of car rental companies offering a specific car marque. I use Enterprise a lot and they won’t do that - you only find out when you pick it up. Manufacturer based rental service would be the only way to guarantee it. Not sure if Audi have one.

Why 'must' it be an Audi?

When BMW Recovery book you a courtesy car with Enterprise they have a requirement that it's either a BMW or a "non-competitor car" - experience suggests that Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai aren't seen as BMW's competition - by which I assume they mean "not a Merc or an Audi".

Sixt tend to offer premium German cars, but I don't know if there is an option to confirm a particular manufacturer.

My cousin worked for a luxury goods manufacturer and he had to hire Mercedes wherever he went, and whenever he was in the UK he always had one.

If when you collect whatever car you have booked, you ask nicely at the desk, they can normally swap you to whatever they have available (you'll have to pay extra if you go up a few categories) and if they have an Audi, then Bob's your uncle. You will massively increase the chance of success if you do this at Heathrow airport where the big rental companies hold the largest fleets.

By the way, Google's your friend

Not sure how 'why' is relevant to my ask.

As above, I now understand the business angle of why trying for an Audi on this occasion
