Discussion
So for the last decade or so there seems to have been one particular car at any time that somehow captured the attention of PHers
It wasn’t necessarily the fastest, or most expensive, or even the most well liked. However, it seemed to me that there was always one that stood out as the most commented on, both positively and negatively
While obviously a slightly objective view, for me the list seemed to go as follows. I’m possibly missing some others inbetween, but the PH massive always seems to get excited with a performance car with daily driving capabilities. And then as soon as that happens will come the negative comments to knock it down, but all the while it’s very much in the PH spotlight for a good period of time
2012 BMW M135i
2014 Mk7 Golf R
2016 Mk3 Focus RS
2020 GR Yaris
2022 M3 Touring
However, since then I ve sort of lost track of what the PH car of the moment is. Is it now the Renault 5 or the new M5 perhaps?
Thought I’d open it up for general opinion

Is the GR Yaris really 5 years old?
I can still recall every owner desperately telling anyone who'll listen that they've got a GRY....
2020 would also be the 718 4.0 GTS?
2021 Ferrari Roma
2022 GR86
2023 Ferrari 296
2024 911 S/T/touring
2025...we're all bored of new cars.
I think you could be correct!

Yes the GRY was everywhere, winning best hot hatch ever awards and then being criticised for not being enough fun
The Mk3 Focus RS was the same. Everyone was buying them, they were the best car ever, then tales of dodgy diffs, argument after argument on here, and then… I’ve not heard them being mentioned in years!
14, 15 years ago? the Skoda Yeti had a high profile and was widely lauded - I recently watched a Top Gear rerun where they pitched it against a Ferrari 308(?) and Clarkson really bigged it up. It's still a popular, sought after car nowadays.
Nowadays the French manufacturers, particularly Renault with their 4 and 5 seem to be 'hot'.
