Windscreen pit triggering OCD I didn't even know I had!
Discussion
I suppose this is part car talk, part therapy! I basically have a tiny pit mark on the windscreen of my company car. It's like 1mm wide, so too small for a repair even if it was a proper chip, let alone a surface pit like it is.
Nevertheless, I've bought some pit fill, razor blades etc and filled it so it is at least smooth. The thing is though, it's in my eye line so I sometimes see it when I'm driving and it's been driving me crazy for months, and I'm not even sure why. There are many reasons why it shouldn't, including:
It's a pit mark, so the windscreen will be fine. Plus, I know you can't do anything about these, and even the best professional attempt at 'fixing it' would still leave it visible.
It's tiny, and I only see if maybe a third of the time I'm driving, all depending on lighting etc.
The car runs absolutely fine, obviously this doesn't effect it at all apart from slightly visually.
It's a company car, so it's not even mine. In three years it'll be gone!
Clearly I'm having some OCD issues with this so please, help me out. This is really common and happens on all cars right? Help me as I tell myself just to get the hell over it!

I personally think this is like eye floaters or tinnitus. Once you stop thinking about it you stop noticing it. I obsess about things like this and eventually you come to terms with it and stop looking at it. Replacing the window is not an option so the next best option is to accept it. Easier said than done obviously. If it’s not too deep would getting it polished (or doing it yourself) make it less visible. I’ve polished out chips in glass with Autosol metal polish.Nevertheless, I've bought some pit fill, razor blades etc and filled it so it is at least smooth. OCD isn t being irritated by something. HTH.
Obsessing (for months) about something minor is though, as-in this scenario.Geertsen said:
