TVR Garage opens its first US showroom

Apparently making a case for selling new TVRs in the UK was too tough - old ones in North America, though...

This being PH, you might already be aware of TVR Garage, the US-based outfit that’s helping to bring classic Blackpool rockets Stateside with the help of Oxfordshire specialist Str8Six. They launched at Monterey Car Week back in 2023, with the 25-year import rule offering up plenty of '90s icons - Cerbera, Griffith, Chimaera - for interested parties on the other side of the pond. And because the late 20th century and early 21st saw new TVRs arrive thick and fast, models can continue to be added to TVR Garage roster: Tuscans are already over there, and come ‘27 the first T350s and Tamoras will be eligible.

When they arrive, and for those cars that TVR Garage is already bringing over, there will now be a showroom space to show them off in. And make all the other supercars look a bit boring in short order. A partnership with TheCarWiz will see Cerberas, Tuscans and similar share a 1,400 square metre space with Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsche and the like. As these modern classics increasingly move into the collectable space, it only seems right for TVRs to be on sale alongside the more traditional exotics. Always fairly rare cars in the UK (unless you’re at a Sunday Service, of course), TVRs will look properly out of this world across the Atlantic. Even in Las Vegas.

Gavin Bristow, Co-founder of TVR Garage, said: “Our mission is to ignite a lasting passion for TVR in the U.S. by importing only the finest examples, building a strong enthusiast community, and laying the foundation for future expansion into restoration and customisation — ensuring the legacy of TVR thrives for generations to come. The partnership with CarWiz is a key step in this journey”.

Sounds like a laudable objective to us; the more people who know, own and drive TVRs, the more people who love TVRs. The only issue might be that TVR Garage could take away the best cars away from the UK for US customers - don’t delay on buying, basically…

Interest in the cars will mean more buyers, more buyers means more money, more money means more cars that are borderline are financially viable to save, which means more TVRs.

More TVRs is a good thing.

Do they convert them to left hand drive? I would imagine Americans wouldn't embrace the steering wheel being 'on the wrong side'.

Might push up values here, similar to what happened to Nissan Skyline GTR's when a fair few of the good ones were sold from these shores and shipped over there.

the Americans buying these won't be scrimping on maintenance. As people with real experience of them know, they don't break down (too much) after 2 decades of bedding in! I think they'll love them, appreciate the lower weight driving experience and have less trouble than with most modern exotics.

I was thinking such, I guess many will do?

they scan in the RHD dash and print out a mirror LHD dash?

I guess the rest parts they can find enough in Amerika or aftermarket better stuf.

anyhow, its good to see such happen, can give TVR a Boost, maybe even some rich dude that wants its name coupled to some interesting 'famous' car brand ala TVR and starts getting some done in one way or another?

I wonder if they’ll waste time rebuilding the AJPs or just do an engine swap.

A Cerbera with a Coyote would be quite fun.

indeed, many variants of nice V8 engines over there.

they than can send those AJP's 6 and V8 back to the UK for some money.

Would be sad though. The AJPs are good engines esp the 6. It’s part of the car. Not the same as swapping out a vanilla 4 pot in an mx5. After all, all these cars will be sorted before sale.

Could do that if you want to ignore the steering column and subframe changes, pedal changes, wiring harnesses etc.

they did sell the cars in LHD in the European markets.

Many TVR's did not got LHD originally, like the Tamora, Cerbera, T350 to name a few, but I believe in the Swiss they build a few RHD to LHD at least some T350 and Cerbera's.
