Car key finder / scanner?
Discussion
I’ve lost a set of keys to my XC90.
I’ve turned the house upside down but it’s nowhere to be seen.
Does anyone make a car key detector to pick up the RFID signals so I can try and find it. I can see something like that could be used for nefarious purposes and I can’t see anything on Amazon that would do that.

I am pretty sure that the key fob will only send a signal when the button is pressed, so even if any form of detector exists (which I doubt) it would be very little help to find missing keys.
Or if you have keyless entry the key will "respond" to the car searching for it to authorize the unlocking. This is pretty short range.
Basically I do t think any types are trackable as the my don't broadcast without outside influences

Yeah, it would need to send out an interrogation signal similar to what the car does when you pull the door handle Or if you have keyless entry the key will "respond" to the car searching for it to authorize the unlocking. This is pretty short range.
