At the moment a guy by the name of Ryan Wedding is on the Top 10 most wanted list in the States for drug trafficking (ironically he was a winter Olympian and ended up with a different type of snowing vocation). Why mention this on PH? Because the FBI has just seized one of his cars -

(2002 Mercedes CLK-GTR Chassis #5)

Pablo Escobar apparently had an F1 in the jungle. What other well known fugitive cars are there?

Classic Lamborghini fans and other car enthusiasts of a nervous disposition may want to look away at this point;

James Munroe McLaren

Hardly a "fugitive" as Munroe was never either on the run or in hiding, quite the opposite in fact, but could be included in the spirit of the thread.

Munroe appeared on The Cars the Star with Quentin. He had an F1 road car (#069) converted to GTR spec with high downforce kit and a race spec GTR Longtail (#027). Someone from his employer was watching and wondered how someone they were paying £50k a year was driving 2 F1s and had a Ferrari 355 Challenge Cup car as well, so started investigating. Long story short, Munroe went down for 5 years for fraud, having lifted £3m from his employers. He should have had another 5 added on for being a colossal dumb-ass - who defrauds their employer then goes on telly showing off what they bought with all the stolen money?

Car #69

Car #27

The cars were seized and auctioned off. #69 eventually made it back to McLaren, returned to original spec and has since been wrapped blue by new owner Francois Perrod and is part of an off the scale collection (it was his Chiron and 288GTO Harry filmed)

I had dealings with Munroe back in 1996 when he was at McGraw Hill. A true fraudster and him serving time was the minimum he deserved. Oddly I moved to McLaren in 1997 and came across him but in a very different situation.
