A thread about electric sports cars. Inspired by the new Caterham… and the few laps I drove of the Nürburgring in a future German electric sports car, which was very enjoyable.

I know some people aren’t keen on electric cars, and probably even less keen on electric sports cars… this isn’t the thread for them.

I recently bought this as a city car…

Here is a cool concept I wish Honda would build.

I reckon it’s cool!

The Chinese SC01 is a fantastic bit of kit, lots of opportunities for individual specifications, colours , wheels etc.
Can anyone post up a picture?

The SC01 is like a Lotus meets a Lancia Stratos.

Looks great. Off to do some Googling on the SC01

It is a bit slim pickings for a proper ev sports car right now. The Cyberster is really the only one. Numerous start up and promises, but nothing that picks up the old Tesla offering

435 bhp, 323 miles range and 1300 kgs. $45k price. There’s a really good YT video.

Should have stuck this in the EV section if all you want is praise.

I think it will be a difficult market to crack. ICE sports cars hardly sell well as it is, so what chance does an electric sports car have?

I wouldn't swap either of my manual ICE sports cars for electric for example, but I guess that some folk might though? It will be interesting to see how it all pans out really.

What a fking edgelord.

Does it matter?

I question the mindset of someone who purposely turns up and takes a st in a perfectly acceptable thread

I think you are right. It will be a thin market.

Where there is an advantage, as the video shows, is the flexibility in the packaging. The progression to hub motors is allowing designers to be increasingly compact

Add in the ability to play around with balance using battery packs.

The lower cost base might make it more affordable to a younger customer base

Could be some really cool designs coming out.

You truly are some sort of special simpleton. We are having a pleasant exchange about electric sports cars and the developments within that market. As usual you have nothing constructive to add to the discussion. I know electrickery makes you frikened but please go away.
