End of an Era... 116D AlpinaLine Anyone?
Discussion
Alpina are officially part of BMW.
According to an employee at Alpina UK that I spoke to they'll be making 7 Series-based Maybach alternatives, but time will tell.

A sad, sad time.

I had an E46 B3 - the interior leather and twiddly bits were ace, as was the Alpina stuff outside. Lovely engine and suspension - it all felt very different from an M3 or standard 3 series.
Expensive to do though - so the later E90 D3 were all banged out as identical cars with (from memory) a huge extra charge to add any options.
Can’t see Alpina leather and multiple stitching options being available going forward - I agree it’s more likely to become a badge option.
Last of the line proper Alpinas will definitely hold their value. Very sad.

Yeah it's amazing how spartan some of the E90 D3s were! Expensive to do though - so the later E90 D3 were all banged out as identical cars with (from memory) a huge extra charge to add any options.
