Your Pet Peeve with a garage?

Ok so mine is, although I mostly try to avoid others doing work and have a go myself where I can
This is where I get quite OCD

I decided to have suspension done because it was very stubborn to release the hub nut and bolt, dissimilar metals caused it to be seized and I didn't have the patience or level of heat to simply get the assembly out the hub to replace it easily so gave up.

The highty reputed independant guy did come through on this and freed it off and installed the suspension at least.
BUT..
This is where my opinion went downhill and decided I'll be avoiding them in future, I've been sitting on this for a while as its been burning away in the back of my mind

As useful as this way, I'd supplied the top mount and brand new bolts.nuts to be replaced

So on picking up he said he hadn't used returned them to me and said you coulld sell etc and pumped up the cost slightly due to the extra time of work
No clear reasoning given why couldn't use them, simply and logically to me at least, use the new parts
I knew I had to take car away and pay etc, wasnt up for an argument for the hassle of it so just went "ok" but the loss is to them I'll be avoiding in future.

Sounds like the can't be arsed with this sort of work perhaps and trying to avoid it in future, but not very impressed at the suggestion that If I wanted to replace it I've got to strip it down again later in my own time to replace parts with new

They replaced the other front side by the way as it was needed earlier so did this to catch up to be symetrically changed, and earlier on was actually billed for change of top mount on the other side funnily enough. Inconsistency just grinds my gears. I want everything to be right on my car, even more so if I pay through the nose for it.
