AXA insurance declined
Discussion
So today my bank card was declined and in the evening, insurance quotes from AXA!
There were ample funds in bank and my profile should sensible...
Anyway, I'm moving from a GR86 to a Ford Tourneo (plus a shift to another fun car) and I've been declined both as a temporary vehicle (until GR gets collected so potential overlap) and as a fresh quote.
Low risk postcode, no convictions, max NCB.
Has anyone else had this?
I got plenty of quotes via the Meerkat so no major worries but I am curious as to why as I'd be happy to stick with AXA.

I've used both cuvva and dayinsure for short term insurance if you're stuck (a few hours when buying a car, and 1 day when collecting one). They have car type and age limits though so anything exotic or over about 20 yrs old will be difficult. I think it was under £15 but excess is high.

I'm changing two cars in a very short timeframe as with each policy reaching the end of it's lifespan which has meant sorting it all is trickier than I'd hoped.Combine that with collection and delivery dates that don't quite work and it's a bit of a pain,
Temp cover was my first thought but for two weeks it was £110 so I've just taken out a 3rd policy and will let the other naturally expire.
Axa can be funny about certain performance cars, or certainly used to be. I had a Mk7 Fiesta ST insured with them, which they were happy enough about even though it was modified and insured under the ABI code for the Mountune MP215 kit, but when I rang them to say I’d sold it and bought a Mk2.5 Focus ST I was politely told that they wouldn’t cover it and they’d refund the rest of the policy without any admin charges. If I’d bought a Mk3 ST however, they’d have kept me on as a customer as they’d happily cover newer STs. All very odd. Anyway I got another policy elsewhere the same day and never looked back.

A Ford Tourneo doesn't seem to be higher risk than a GR86!
But maybe they have had a run of large claims on Tourneos?
TBF motor insurance these days doesn't seem to make any sense. We just have to find the best deal we can as it is a legal requirement.
Sounds like they don't like Tourneos, maybe because of theft or claims history. If it is a larger Transit based Custom rather than the Connect then it could be the number of seats. But maybe they have had a run of large claims on Tourneos?
