Quite a specific usage of an EV for the last 3 years up and down to my business in the lakes. Round trip of 600 miles and done 15k a year.

We leased a Model Y through the company and with BIK, one set of tyres, no servicing and free electric, it’s been a cheap way to run a car.

BIK going up and in 2028 pay to use an EV per mile. It feels like the tipping point to switch into running one privately and claiming the 45p (to 10k) and 25p (above) is upon us. Is anyone else having similar calculations?

From 1 March 2026 the advisory electric rates for fully electric cars will be:

7 pence per mile for home charging
15 pence per mile for public charging
