Buying a Plate from DVLA

I bought a plate last night direct from DVLA. The payment is showing on my bank statement however, no confirmation email from them. I would have thought regardless of the time it takes for the plate to show on my account, surely acknowledge the order and payment?



I've previously bought two plates, one was from Speedyreg in NI, and the second I bought (I'm sure) from DVLA (about five/six years ago IIRC) but didn't have to create an account like this time around.

I've just checked availability of the plate I bought and it lets me select it and proceed to the payment page.

Has to be a problem at their end. Do I now buy it again which would mean paying twice? I don't fancy chasing them for a refund.

Well if you bought it last night and it says it can take up to 24hrs, id give it till tomorrow morning at least.

Valid, but the system will let me get to the payment stage of the same registration which would mean I'd have paid twice for the same plate.

Tried, as did 32 others before me. Then went to webchat which was as helpful as an envelope with no address on it.

It's absence of a confirmation email which is making me feel uneasy about the transaction.

I bought two last year and I remember thinking 'what thats it?'

Im sure it took a good few hours (maybe a day) for it all to sort itself out on the portal, I don't remember getting an email at all.

Just for info, I bought a plate from the DVLA about 2 weeks ago. Had a “DVLA confirmation of purchase” email from them the same day (within hours) and the V750 turned up in the post after maybe 3 days. Are you sure you’ve entered your email address correctly?

Fwiw I have bought maybe 10 plates from DVLA and in each case I have received email confirmation by return.
I have always found the portal post purchase to be not particularly accurate in that not all registration's ever show up but that doesn't matter .
If your Bank is showing the payment then that to me says the transaction went through.
Perhaps as suggested its your email that was entered incorrectly ?
