Guessing the previous post was removed due to being posted by a bot looking for engagement, but it was an interesting question, so... heres a genuine thread.

So. USA/canada/Mexico world cup, big distances, what car you taking?

As in the other thread, my choice is a caddy ct5v blackwing. Deeply 'murican, oodles of power, yet 5 series comfort.

It'd have to be a BMW F90 M5 CS - it just ticks all the boxes for a cross country cruiser whilst being great fun when needed.

A 1963 Chev Belair 4 door with a (possibly turboed) LS engine and OD automatic.

Cannonball run spec trans am

Although the sensible answer is an uber ti the airport , cos its long way to go and generally driving in north america is dull

I'm of the mindset that if I go to the States, there's no point in me renting a decent #premium eurobarge. I still have fun in the local market barges despite them being less polished than say a 5 series.

Hertz should have a fleet of pursuit/Interceptor Crown Victorias for us Brits.

I went on a 5000 mile western USA roadtrip last year and our chariot for the trip - a humble chevy malibu. 1.6 litre petrol with a cvt gearbox and it was... fine. To be honest as long as it had good a/c and cruise control i didn't mind what it was.

Admittedly the convertible mustang we had the year before was better, but most cars cruise American interstate just fine.

This World Cup is nearly over. Surely a better idea to plan for the next one.
