Latest Rezvani Beast goes X-rated with 1,560hp

Thought the Corvette ZR1X was bonkers? Rezvani's beastly take on the C8 delivers even more grunt

You’ll probably recall Rezvani Motors, though perhaps less so for its sports cars than for the so-called Tank it launched in 2017. That was an ‘Extreme Utility Vehicle’ that combined a military-grade design with a V8 (not to mention the Wrangler underneath it all), which predictably enough earned itself a cult following in the States. But in point of fact, Rezvani had kicked off years before with something called the Beast, a four-cylinder sports car underpinned by a modified version of the Ariel Atom’s tubular chassis. 

If that sounds more interesting, it was - and successful enough for Rezvani to introduce a second-generation model in 2024, this time based on the slightly more sophisticated platform of the C8 Corvette. We reported on it at the time, less for its turbocharged V8 and more for the fact that you could spec the car with body armour and bulletproof glass - or, indeed, a pepper spray dispenser. Rezvani suggested the model developed around 1,000hp and was capable of 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds. 

Well, apparently that wasn’t enough for some because this week the firm has revealed the new Beast X, which takes everything up a notch. For the most part, the upgrade is owed to a change in donor; though Rezvani doesn’t specify it, a new all-wheel-drive system and the 1,560hp powering it suggests the flagship has adopted the E-Ray's hybrid running gear. Either way, it has again added a modified 6.2-litre turbocharged V8 to the mix, and suggests the result is good for 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds - meaning it rivals the ‘less than two second’ time of the ZR1X.

The eight-speed DCT is carried over too, as well as the adaptive double wishbone suspension. The body, of course, is all Rezvani’s own work and builds upon the regular Beast with larger air intakes, canards on the front bumper - and on the sill, too - plus a giant two-piece spoiler and redesigned rear end that incorporates a new twin exit exhaust. It has modified the price, too: you’re looking at around half a million dollars for the new Beast X. But just five examples are planned, which the website suggests can be reserved now with a $1,500 refundable deposit. Tempted?

That looks awesome, love it.

Love the front end design with discreet lights. It gives it a look and feel from the pop-up headlight era. Not convinced by the rear wing design and yolk steering wheels aren't a good idea. In general though, top effort

From some angles, the car does look rather cool but that steering wheel looks horrendous

That's a surprisingly good looking car. Not perfect, but the proportions are spot on, and the wheel design (and colour!) is gorgeous.

The price? Hmm. I'm not sure they can deliver a car with such power for that sum unless development corners have been cut.

What a shame the C8 doesn't look more like this. No excuse for it's poor styling given it's a clean sheet design.

Way more appealing than the donor car, given the back half looks like they gave up and slapped a Camaro rear end on it.
