Carrera S gets a manual option, but only for North America
Discussion
Since PH Editorial hasn't picked up on this yet, just sharing as an FYI...
For MY2027, Porsche is bringing back the manual transmission on the 992.2 Carrera S:

Up to now, the only manual option on the 992.2 Carrera line was on the Carrera T, or you had to make a big price jump up to the GT3 line. So it's good to see a 6-speed manual option back for the S.
However, there are some notable limitations to get this 6-speed manual on the Carrera S (grumble, grumble):

As an aside on manual transmission cars in the US in general...
While not completely extinct, manual cars have almost entirely disappeared from the broad car buying US mass market -- there's vanishingly few options remaining.
However, and this might surprise some folks, both BMW and Porsche have said the take-rate for manual transmissions (when available), is typically higher in the US than Europe. For example, it's the reason BMW only offered manual versions of the M5 (E60 and F10 generations) in North America back in the day - even though the automatic versions were generally considered superior.
Anyway, it seems this US manual take rate in the enthusiast/performance end of the market, is a factor in Porsche only offering the 6MT on the 992.2 C2S in the US and Canada (so far).

- Mandates certain other options to be included such as rear-wheel steer, center lock wheels and Sports PASM (a.k.a. SPASM)
