Have been considering some sort of outdoor covering for my car - which is a new 911 so nothing super fragile or delicate - but just don’t feel confident in any options I’ve seen.

Basically, aside from being pretty unattractive, I feel like they’d be liable to blow away / collapse in bad conditions.

I’d be quite content with just a roof only canvas canopy to keep off the worst of the rain, doesn’t need to be some flawlessly sealed box, but haven’t seen much like that.

Has anyone had a totally flawless experience with one of these things being used on a daily basis?

Thanks!

Have you got the space/budget for one of these sort of canopies/carports instead?

A shipping container is secure and won't blow away in a storm, but are aesthetically challenging (no more than a Machine Mart tent garage arguably) and may be problematic if you have neighbours in close proximity.

With a bit of cladding or strategically planted hedging they can work well.

I don't think a modern car needs any covering.
A bit of dust or rain isn't going to harm it.

I would think that a ceramic coating or both would be logistically simpler.

This just park it.
If you are trying to hide it then only a garage will do really.

Over a long period an outside car will age more than a car that lives in a well kept garage but as others have suggested, it’s a bit of an all or nothing situation.

Head over to the "who has the best garage" thread and get inspired!

Worse "I've bought a new 911" name drop ever. wink

Seriously, unless the germans have now started making cars water soluble just drive it and park it.

I hadn’t thought of that- is that really meaningfully effective?

For sure you are right in a general sense, just keen to maintain max value after all that. £2k spend to save £8k value (or whatever) would be worth it I figure!

Not my intention I assure you wink

But it is kinda relevant cos it’s just a question of maintaining value as much as possible.

Motivated purely by tightness!
