Toad alarm PIN recovery
Discussion
A car I bought back in 2012 came with an aftermarket Toad alarm. It works great, I have both alarm fobs but have realised that I have never known the PIN and it isn't in the paperwork that came with the car. This means I can't pair a replacement fob with the alarm - I hope never to need to do this, but it's one of those situations where you'll be glad to have the PIN if you need it...
I think the model is a Toad C2 based on the markings on it. I wrote to Toad / Scorpion Automotive about it, supplying the alarm serial number, and they have advised that -
"Having investigated your query, unfortunately, we do no longer provide PIN numbers for this product as it is now obsolete."
Autoelectricians that I have tried don't deal with aftermarket alarms and bounce me back to the manufacturer.
Has anybody had a similar situation and has anybody been able to retrieve a PIN through a third party?
I think I know the answer here - replace the alarm if / when I need to replace both fobs.
TIA.
