Thought I would mention this...

Needed 4 discs and pads for my Kia Ceed.

Crappy stuff on eBay came to £120-£150.

Managed to get Pagid discs and Brembo pads (with shims that the crappy stuff doesn't come with) all round for £113 from Halfords.

Sign up to the "Halfords motorclub" thing (free) and you get £10 off your first purchase and a £5 voucher every year and a further 5% off car parts at the moment.

Kind of forgot about Halfords as a parts supplier, but Impressed at the prices...even cheaper than Autodoc and they are supposed to be arriving at my local store tomorrow.

Maybe worth a look.

Their returns policy on batteries is shockingly dire......

I've used them loads of times for car parts, they are very cheap on some things with the trade card especially on discs and pads.

If you have a local friendly mechanic with a trade card he can lend you the prices are often pretty competitive

Having posted this it reminded me of an advert I have since managed to find...

This advert was from the 90s I think, I don't think they keep things in stock any more.

Halfords are a national account for ECP and GSF. They are supplied from the local depots. The depots, with limited stock aren't over the moon supplying Halfords as they sell at the best prices, and therefore lose margin compared to independent garages or counter sales.

As per above, a lot of their stuff comes straight from ECP.

I've used them quite a few times as they do sometimes come out ridiculously cheap (even vs ECP with discount code or CarParts4less). No issues.

Downside is that for a lot of it it comes straight from those other depots and therefore isn't actually ever in stock so you're on a 24-48 hour turnaround. However you do benefit from Halfords shipping and if you have a trade card, get a discount.

Also the search functionality is awful - I found best results by just searching for a sepcific part number.

I can’t fault Halfords for the parts I’ve bought, their trade card is helpful and can get decent discounts.

They get your order processed quick and let you know when it’s ready to be picked up.

I usually try them first before looking further afield.

Years ago I needed pads and discs for the front of my Cayenne. I did an online order with my local Halfords for next day. They were a country mile cheaper than all the others.
Was funny when I picked them up because the V8S ones are large and very heavy. Cue very impressed Saturday guy, who tried to pick them up together!
