Please read on, its a bit long but i,ll keep it as informative and short as i can.
Today
Sat at junction of roundabout waiting to pull out, 2 cars (bmw and toyota) come quite fast round the roundabout, all over the 2 lanes with the toyota sitting right up the bmw's arse.
I pull out, with quite a gap which is soon closed leaving me right behind them when the bmw goes to carry on round the roundabout but pulls in front of the toyota cutting him up almost bringing them to a halt.
At this point i honestly thought to myself 'bloody hell,look at these two, they are going to cause an accident'
So now we have all pulled off the same exit, its a 50 limit and we all drive as normal, the toyota is sitting right up the arse of the bmw, a couple of minutes go by and i sort of forget about these two idiots.
Anyway we are all doing around 45mph. I at this point am about 2-3 car lengths behind the toyota
when all of a sudden the bmw stamps on his brakes and takes a left turn after almost coming to a complete standstill. The toyota brakes,swerves to the right and narrowly misses the bmw, i brake swerve to the right and guess what.... i just hit the toyota! (lucky not to hit oncoming traffic really).
I go to pull into this left turn the bmw pulled into, the bmw floors it off up the road,obviously just seen what happened. The toyota kicks out a passenger and floors it after the bmw.
The passenger speaks little English, as soon as he speaks i ask if hes legal, he says yes, i dont believe him and call the police......guess what, they dont want to know! (surprise there,bet they would if i said i had a shotgun and was going to shoot him).
Toyota comes back,his rear quarter is creased,my nice merc sprinter van needs new wing, headlight,bonnet, im now livid.
My fear is these iraqi type people will now claim off me and all claim whiplash making an accident which was not my fault and due to these people having road rage into a potentially large claim up.
We swapped details, my ins company confirmed the address his correct, but he gave me a false/wrong phone number. i just hope they dont claim as they may be dodgy?
Was it my fault, i was 2-3 lengths behind and the bmw stopped to a standstill from 45, a a merc sprinter does not have the braking ability of a bmw.But i bet i get the blame as if you hit someone from behind its obviously your fault, even if 2 idiots are having a tiff.
I,m gutted as my nice van is now trashed leaving me looking like the pikeys, i potentially may have a large claim against me and next years premiumn is bound to go up.
No witnesses except for the iraqis in the car so i,m going to get the blame for this arent i?

It doesn't matter what the circumstances are leading up to the accident
I wont go into the you should have left a bigger gap between yourself and the t
ts infront of you as I am sure others will 
Oh in hindsight i now know i should have left a bigger gap. But its too late now, i wasnt tailgating him, i never sit up peoples arses, if i had of been in a car i would have avoided him 100%. i literally just clipped him, the van couldnt steer and brake quick enough.
I just wish the old bill could have been there to see it, bloody dangerous driving from the pair of these fools.

Yes fair enough but i can tell you now i do not get involved in road rage at all.EVER!.I,ve no need to lie and am always the first to admit if i make a mistake.
i,ll give you an example. A few years back i did a U turn on a junction where your not meant to, everyone does it there. (Not saying its acceptable) while pulling out a car approaches from the junction opposite, he looks right not left then pulls out,i slam the brakes,beep the horn but its too late- he hit me, i was stopped....yet i,ll be the first to admit fault for doing the U turn and took blame for it,even though i actually watched him not look left at all.I shouldnt have done the turn.

Oh yes mate, lesson definately learnt :-(I,ll be honest in the 20000 miles ive done in this van i have never needed to test its emergency stopping abilitys, hence why i sat at what i would call a reasonable distance. From now on i,ll sit further back. Just gutted i had to find out this way.

sorry to say it, but that of course is why you should have been a little bit further behind the people in front, even more so as you've already seen them driving dangerously. I heard somebody talking on the radio the other week about this sort of thing happening quite a lot. To be honest I wasn't really listening but from what I recall they were saying that, two cars will set up an innocent driver & perposly cause him to run in to the back of one of them by braking sharply. Then of course they claim for everything they can.
I hope it wasn't a scam for your sake but from what you say it does sound as though it might be.

Ok. I,ll stop but i did admit that i hit them didnt i? It was a mistake, an accident.Not caused by me but because i underestimated the abitlitys of the van i was driving. I can well believe it but this toyota was so close to hitting the bmw.I f he had of hit him i would have avoided him, its only because we both swerved to the right. The toyota driver to be fair to him was livid, he chased the bmw and got all but one of the letters on his reg.He was fine with me and didnt blame me.I hope it wasn't a scam for your sake but from what you say it does sound as though it might be.

I was driving too close to someone else and assumed that it would be OK. And you found out it wasn't.
