As above whether they unlocked it or the kids pressed a button on the key I don't know but my wallets gone (I don't usually keep it in there).

Car was outside my house so they now have pretty much all my details.

Anyway reported to Police and cancelled my C card but my photo drivers license and various other cards were in there.

Do I just get a replacement license ?

Is there anything to reduce the aggro as I guess I'm now fairly likely to get some kind of ID theft.

Balls.

Bugger, thats a pain in the arse, the number of times I've accidentally left my phone or wallet in the car, I'm always amazed its still there when I realise its missing and go to retrieve it...

Driving licence is just a replacement, get a form from the post office, or probably available online now too.

You've already cancelled your cards etc so the banks will be on the lookout for dogey activity, just keep an eye on your statements and you should be ok.

If you are particularly paranoid you could sign up to something like creditexpert.co.uk which will alert you if someone does a credit search or application against your name. This is probably unnecesary but a handy online resource if you do need to check.

best check that you didn't lose the paper counterpart of your licence before you apply for a new one

if you had lost both parts, it would be a simple matter of phoning up and ordering new ones, whereas if you have only lost one half, it's a much more involved process

just have a good check that it isn't missing, they do quite often just disappear wink

Yep spent yesterday searching the house.

So annoying as I'm always telling my wife off about security (or her lack of) and I managed to leave my wallet in the car.

Cheers for the tip re paper bit, you know I haven't seen that in a while...

wink
