IET magazine all about green stuff
Discussion
I don't know which forum to put it in, so have just put it in the lounge, maybe move it to whereever appropriate.
This fortnights IET magazine is quite an interesting read. The topics were:
Electric TT bikes
Green accesories to your car
Manufacturing Hydrogen, for cars
Battery electric cars
The comparative CO2 emmisions from various power sources for the cars.
OK I accept that this is a green issue of the magazine focusing on transport.
However the main theme running through all of this is they seem to just be taking for granted the CO2 as a "green" issue. They do not seem to be looking into the components for production of these technologies just how green they are once in use. How can an organisation that is meant to be full of creative minds be so narrow minded?
They did have an interesting article on green motorsports, also there will be no more development for fossil fueled components on F1 cars.

You don't think that any "green" issues actually are do you? Simply spout out s***e about CO2 - that's all that counts these days.
Such is the damage which continues to be done to the planet which is ignored, because it isn't CO2...
Indeed, however a lot of the industrial projects I have and am working on are less about CO2. A lot of the educated people I speak to seem to be of the same opinion I am. The lectures I have been to also mostly seem to agree. Up until the media hype and Als fantasy film people in indutry seemed to be concentrating more on harmful emmissions.Such is the damage which continues to be done to the planet which is ignored, because it isn't CO2...
Yet the magazine seems to be going the way of the CO2 gravy train.
The only people I know who are involved in CO2 projects and "green" energy are all out for the money, they love it. I mean £1.3 billion on a windfarm in the sea that will generate up to 500MW. You could install a new turbine and improve infrastructure at Drax for another £5millon and thats with a fair old whack of commission. The turbines there usually run around the 700MW mark.
Also if CO2 is the main issue there can't be much of problem. Just get everyone to plant a few trees. Christ I have just saved the wrold economy billions.
