So I have a tracker * in my current vehicle, which i bought last month.
It's their top tier tracker apparently
to sign up you need to phone them and express your itnerest
you get a form through the post, which i have filled out and faxed, then mailed it to them.
Feeling a little concerned that my car is techinically not insured against theft unless it has an active tracking device I decide to phone them up having not heard form them for 5 days.

I start my conversation with
Me: "I have a tracker * fitted that i would like to activate but have not heard form you since i have faxed you the forms"
Her: Ok sir what is the vehicle reg?
Me: vehicle reg
Her no such vehicle on our database, can I try the VIN?
Me: VIN
Her: Sorry nothing in the system., what's your name?
Me: Name
Her: Sorry i cannot find anything...
Me: Last time I spoke with someone in your tracker * department, they found the car and said they had it registered under previous owner.
Her; Oh it's tracker five!? ok i need to call our other department and call you back

2 hours later she calls back and tells me I need to prove I am the new keeper. Since I haven't got the V5 yet I suggest I get the dealer to email them and confirm. And point out that while I can understand they are trying to protect the registered owner in case someone "tries it on" their beuraucracy is doing the real owner a massive disservice by puting them at financial risk and their competitors allow one to register and activate first, then send the paperwork later.
Her (with a considerable amount of misplaced pride): Oh we would never do thaaat.

1 hour goes by, I had a confirmation from the dealer that he sent the email. But I dont hear from trafficmaster for 2 hours so decide to give the a call. The girl who dealt with it previously left for the day and apparently she has given me the wrong email address...
So yet another day goes by with me beng uninsured against theft.

Having sorted out the confirmation I get a call today asking if I am near the vehicle so they can test it before they activate it. I am not
I suggest I do it after work but am told they are shut at 5:30
I suggest I do it tomorrow morning before work but I am told they open at 9
I work 7-6 so i cannot do it.
I suggest I do it on saturday but they are shut all weekend.
I suggest their top tier system is pretty unimpressive compared with their competitors
she assures me the actual tracking system works 24/7
I ask them to activate it without testing as the likelyhodd is it is ok.
She replies that she cannot take my money unless she knows the device is working.
I ask them to activate it anyway and if it is not working they can just arrange for a refund and I will go with someone else.

I just don't understand why something supposedly so important that has thatcham approval is so fking hard to activate? I offer them money, my details and send confirmation by the dealer and nearly a month down the line my car is still not tracked. Should I come back home tonight and my car is gone- I am fked. Thanks to some red tape molessting tts who are fluent in retardees who can't even listen to what the client is saying as is evident by wasting my time and effort by ignoring the fact that I at the start of the conversation mention I had a TRACKER *! Complete and utter morons!

When I had the top tier "Tracker" they activated it over the phone within 10 minutes and asked for proof within minutes.

It's not like if they register it in my name and I am not the rightful owner they will be forced to seize the stolen car and hand it over to me is it? At the end of the day they can still track the vehicle in the event of theft?

Sorry for such a long rant but this whole thing is just bks! I will never choose to install their product on my next car. EVER!
