Looking for a chauffeur and car in London.
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm taking the OH to London for her 30th birthday dinner this weekend to Bentleys as suggested by some fellow PH'ers.
I'm thinking, to make it quite special, it would be nice to get picked up at our hotel (nr Trafalgar Sq.) by a swish motor and chauffeur, then got driven around for half hour or so before being dropped off at the restaurant.
Any pointers, suggestions or ideas please...?
You've all done me proud so far, so let's see what you come up with..!!
If this is posted in the wrong place, mods, feel free to move it. I still preferred the old P&P layout - much simpler!

when I got married I booked a Rolls Royce Taxi. The company was called ( IIRC ) 'Rolls Royce On Call' and ran a small fleet of LPG powered Rollers for not much more than the cost of a Hackney cab. I can't find them by Googling so I assume they are not in business anymore?
some friends of mine were transported from their wedding in a bright-pink Hindustan Amabassador decorated in a wild & funky fashion. If you were interested I'm sure you could Google the company who organises them. It would be guaranteed to impress your lady more than if you book her a Veyron ( if she's like my Mrs ) .....

There was a company years ago in Herne Bay, that used to exclusively use Rollers as cabs! Seems absurd now, with the reliability and comfort of modern cars, but I guess it made sense back in the day to have the best engineering some friends of mine were transported from their wedding in a bright-pink Hindustan Amabassador decorated in a wild & funky fashion. I'd love to do something similar these days, but licensing won't let you plate anything over three years old. You try getting a 3 year old Rolls for £20k. More like £60-70k

Sorry Nigel, didn't realise it was you. If you struggle, I'll do you a good deal on my Jag and a driver for the night I'm taking the OH to London for her 30th birthday dinner this weekend to Bentleys as suggested by some fellow PH'ers.

I saw that parked up in Notting Hill a few months ago. It is utterly hideous, but certainly a unique way to arrive

Always on time, chauffeurs all look smart & tidy and are very helpful and polite. Cars are always new & clean.
Probably not the cheapest option you'll find but they have always been 100% reliable for me and have always provided a top notch service.

Erm since they cost more, were bigger than and more luxurious than 99% of the cars on the road. Not the sense of occasion that you get with a RR / Bentley but still swish by most definitions I'd have thought.cappsy said:
