Every 16 year olds dream, this magical mixture of speed and gear changing and foot wells falling out whilst you "double clutch like a grandmotha!"

So who has got some, and on what cars. I have never actually had a go in a car with it fitted, so a little info would be welcome.....

Did you mean nitrous oxide (N2O) or specifically someone running a kit from Nitrous Oxide Systems?

Go to the Drag Racing forum. Those guys use more methanol and nitromethane than every McDonalds car park put together.

When you say who's got "NOS" that's like saying who has a Sony instead of saying who has a television.

or perhaps it is like saying use the Tannoy, or Hoover. The brand has become the application.

ok ok ok as usual jump on the kid LOL

i have had NOS (wizards of nos wet kit running 100bhp jets for the ppl that want to be EXACT)

i had it on a.............are you ready ppl,,,,not a jap car or a chav car as ppl are expecting:-

LOTUS ESPRIT GT3

and the stuff is amazing if used correctly, it will not harm your car as ppl think it will, as the lotus has a mid mounted engine (proper place lol) it suits it perfectly because of the amount of grip.

i only had one issue, i missed a gear a gear once and it went to about 10k rpms, ouch, luckily i did no damage.

its not like it is in the films though, its just very fast acceleration, and the bonus of it is you can remove it and be back to normal or not turn it on and have your mpg back. its fun stuff and made really for straight line power, but i know of a bloke with a cossie engined esprit that uses it to "cool" the tempreature on the intake only not actually as the boost as it runs so hot

edit:- sorry realised your not a kid lol, and if that is your type r in the profile, those things are insane, friend owns a 300+bhp one, bye bye sklines all day long and his friends is pushing 500bhp i believe. alot of money to get one that quick though.

Did his 300bhp, FWD Honda really out drag a 500bhp Skyline in a fair contest? Come on now. You fell asleep watching "fast and furious" again didn't you? biggrin

It's more like saying "Who has a Hoover?" rather than "Who has a Vacuum Cleaner?".

Everyone knows what he means so there is no need to be pedantic, especially when the difference has already been pointed out.

Had nitrous fitted to my Gti-6 when it was standard engine wise.

Was very good fun and useful for overtaking!

Really needed a bigger bottle and a bottle heater though. smile

I thought bottle heaters where for increasing pressure/maintaining pressure to the very last bit....

I have been doing a bit of research and there are many diffrent types of application and BHP figures vary massively depending on the delivary system.

How much did you have on your GTI6, i.e what was the quoted figure 25/50/70/100 + bhp system, and how much did it actually produce? (I understand if you dont have rolling road print outs, but what was the feel of the increase, was it what you expected in increased pull?)

Can you just strap it on to a car as standard? No remap, fueling adjustment? You can get a very basic kit to spray into your plenium chamber and it just makes the fuel *bang* more vigerously.... Seems very dubious to me.

I'm thinking supercharger and Nitrous, say 50bhp on spray.....
