I did not put up a fight. I would have gone for an earlier model with more power but I expect that the 114 bhp of the early 1.6 can be obtained by some tweeks or other ? Time to invest in Waxoil I think, to protect the investment. "Ive bought an MX5 for the wife"

I got a 1.6 eunos for a giggle, so much fun! The only things which are a bit annoying, are that looking over my shoulder when I pull out to overtake etc, offers no rear view at all if the roof is up. And secondly, I can't see the traffic lights if I am at the front of the queue and have the sun visors down (I have them down all year round in any car)

Unfortunately, no. You really should ahve bought either an Early 1.6 or a 94+ 1.8.The 90hp engine usese a different head I believe, maybe even different internals. discussed many a time, same conclusion every time.
Ah well.
Your really gonna have to screw the nuts off that one. but dont worry, it wont mind.

.Price. £1500. I looked at completed Ebay auctions, Pistonheads and autotrader and decided that If I was looking for an MX5 I'd be paying £1000, but then I'd be buying a Eunos with less history. Monzas tend to be advertised from £1300 to £2K, so when I say 'about right', you have to bear in mind that I wasn't allowed to haggle, as my wife did not want to upset her friend which apparently is how women do things. My suggestion (privately) that her husband was deluded was met with some hostility by my wife. Apparently I wind people up and upset them.
Just popped over to Leominster after work on the train, had a pint, followed by dinner, followed by paying for the MX5, followed by a 'blast' with the roof down in the dark, back to Shrewsbury in the dark, up the A49.
What an absolute HOOT. Mind you I'm a bit cold now, as it was sunny when I caught the train at 5pm, and I failed to take a coat or hat.

Waeco (sp?) heated seat kit is what you need What an absolute HOOT. Mind you I'm a bit cold now, as it was sunny when I caught the train at 5pm, and I failed to take a coat or hat.
fitted it to my 5 and used shogun heated seat switches mounted where the electric windows would be for that OEM look , enjoy it they are a cracking car
