Autocar "high res" galleries...

Autocar are promoting these new "high res" galleries on their site at the moment, e.g:

If you click through to a gallery (e.g. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/ferrari-/frankfu... you get 612 x 405 pixel images - they may be high-res, but they are tiny so you can't really tell. Am I missing something as there are some great shots that would be good as desktop wallpaper, they're just not big enough!

ETA: The point of this post is to question why they are crowing about them so much.

I admit they're small on a 24" screen but the dilemma web designers have these days is building for small notebook/laptop screens, accomodating ads etc too.

Right-click on the image you want, choose properties & copy the path & filename of the image, then fiddle about with it & you end up with something like this:

Oh my God Is that the new 458?! That's the ugliest looking car I've ever seen!!!

On another note, I can't find the high res gallery and neither of your links go to it. Any ideas?

Two things.
Why are they calling that a hi resolution gallery when the pics are only a fairly decent size dimension wise, and are all 72dpi like all web jpegs?
Why is it every time I see that new Ferrari it becomes 1% less attractive?

I liked the look of the thing before, but from that picture it seems to have developed all sorts of warts and buldges!

That bonnet swoop and matching chin spoiler don't make me think "Ferrari" at all
