Spied: Aspira F620 Supercar

Fledgling supercar maker Aspira hatches its first chick, and PH catches it on (digital) film

PH catches new supercar...
PH catches new supercar...
A crack team of PistonHeads spies has spotted a new supercar undergoing vehicle-approval testing in the UK, and it's called the Aspira.

Now, we realise that working out the name of this new car doesn't exactly make us crack super-sleuths (that numberplate is a bit of a giveaway), but a bit of on-site research and a few phone calls has uncovered more...

It turns out that the new car is actually called the Aspira F620, and it was at Leighton Buzzard IVA centre as part of the approval process to gain low-volume full production status - so this is no kit car.

...But this one's at an IVA centre...
...But this one's at an IVA centre...
Power comes from an LS376 GM V8 - a GM-tweaked version of the 6.2-litre LS3 V8 with upgraded camshafts.

Our sources tell us that Aspira manages to coax 538bhp out of the mid-mounted engine, which drives the rear wheels via a six-speed Graziano gearbox that's geared for a 209mph maximum. The F620 also has a custom leather interior, a full integral roll cage, and ceramic brakes will be an option.

The car is loosely based on a heavily modified version of a kit car made by US outfit Race Car Replicas.

...not the 'Ring or somewhere else glamourous

Apparently, Aspira hopes to make around 10 cars per year and, with prices starting from £110,000, the F620 should sit somewhere between the Ultima GTR and Mosler in the pantheon of low-volume supercars.

It's a tough market out there, but we wish Aspira well...

Oh, and if anyone from Aspira reads this, can we have a go in one when it's ready please?

So someone managed to get an RCR SLC 'kit' through IVA then wink

Back end looks better than the original kit, but looks a bit windy in the cockpit hehe

Quite like the look of it... But for some reason I keep looking at it thinking that back end needs a wing on it...

This is the car that someone spotted and started a thread on the other day.

The car looks awesome IMO. How a 'Supercar' should look

That looks great. I think it will probably need a wing on the back to keep it plated a high speeds though.

There looks to be a diffuser on the back, so it may not be required.

Stunning thing smile

Yep...thinking the same....rear end is very enzo, but needs something at the rear. I'm sure as per the Koenig....it needs a rear wing or the owner could soon find himself 'doing a stig' and flying off the road or track! Awesome and different though to an Ultima / Porker / Ferrari

Most likely it uses a Venturi Tunnel in the aero-kit, so no need for a "wing" - certainly looks low enough to have positive ground-effect.

think you may find that it does have a wing - just not fitted at the time
