Incorrect Mileage on MOT

Hi guys, wondering if someone can help.

Just had an mot on my "new" car, well, 2nd hand but it's new to me! It's a 1995 Camaro imported from Japan (45k miles!).

I've noticed that the odometer reading on the mot cert is listed in miles and not km as it should be. This adds some 30k miles to the actual mileage of the vehicle. What can I do about this? I can find anything about this on the vosa web site.

It seems that this has happened before as the last mot doc has the wrong info too.

Just take it back to the place who did your MOT and explain the situation. They will nullify the old cert and issue a new one.

It happens to me every year, I tell the garage my car's an import and the mileage isn't miles...it's kilometres. And when I collect the car, I find that they've put xxxxx miles instead of xxxxx kms.

Happens to me all the time, my 'milo' is in km, theyjust type the figure in so it says 250K miles rather than 250K km...

I don't get worked up about it... ..maybe I should? TBH its only an issue if someone kicked up a fuss on selling the car..

Apparently they can only ammend the MOT for a short period afterwords, my mileage was incorrect but they forgot about me after I called up and queried it. result my car required to be re-tested the following month (at no cost to me of course).

Having had 2 Jap import cars in the past it seemed to be the norm. Not sure how it should be, but never caused me any issues including the sale.

i managed to get hold of the mot station, they're correcting it for me.

If the speedo is in km and the MOT in miles, it doesn't take Einstein to work it out. Common thing and of no real consequence in my experience but then many owners might be OCD sufferers.

Common mistake on imports and easily done. The MOT station will rectify it for free and issue a new certificate if you ask.

Our Eunos came with a load of old MOT's all of which stating that the mileage is the KM reading. I'm concerned that if I take it to a more savvy MOT centre and they convert this to miles, HPI et al will flag this up as clocking. What's the best course of action?

Your local VOSA office will correct it: if you take the car along. In Sheffield this is a combined HGV/PSV ministry testing station and HGV/PSV licence testing site: other cities may differ...

As this is the internet, therell probably be someone along shorty to deride/contradict me: so I'll add that Ive altered the odometer readings on a number of new import MOTs, which've been incorrectly recorded.
