Would you get in a car with a woman driver you didn't know?

Inspired by ZR1cliff's date experience and having had most of my scary passenger rides in the seat of women driver's cars (road rage, overtaking head on in underpowered cars, touch parking etc.) There is no way I would let a woman I didn't know drive me somewhere, especially if they didn’t seem to care about what they drove and had a beaten up supermini etc. Might sound sexist but generally guys take more pride in their driving standards and have to drive for work and get in more practice and experience behind the wheel (PH women racers etc. excepted of course).

No problem with women drivers in general, there are good and bad ones in that species same as us!!

Having said that, living in Asia there are a hell of a lot of st drivers of both sexes!!!

I on the other hand, am naturally a driving God!!

You've got just as much risk from a bloke as a woman. Once you've been in the car with them, you can decide not to get in the next time.

I'm generally a pretty chilled-out passenger, but the only times I've ever been actually afraid when a passenger have been when a man is at the wheel.

What he said. What's with all the mysogyny round here? Some of us can drive, you know. We're not all confined to Micras and Nissan Figaros (thank goodness...).

I have never been as scared by a female driver in her own (or a borrowed) car than I have by an awful lot of taxi drivers.

If anything getting into a taxi to be passengered scares me more than any other mode of transport.

if im not happy i tell them to either change there driving or stop and ill walk. having said that i have pretty high tolerance for aggressive driving.

A bad driver is a bad driver regardless of sex, though I tend to find some of the women I am a passenger with tend to have very poor spatial (if thats a real word) and this can make it a testing time when in the wrong seat.

Must admit my worst moment I had when letting a woman test drive a Golf GTi I was selling.

She grabbed the handbrake mid bend !

Obviously the tail went out.

I shouted "what the hell are you doing ?"

"I just wanted to check it was working"

She wasn't a budding rally driver and had no idea what would happen.

I told her to stop immediately and took over driving.

Needless to say I didn't sell her the car.
