Do you flash other drivers when.....

You pass the police carrying out mobile speed checks with a speed gun trying to catch out on coming traffic?

Passed one today and flashed all the drivers coming towards them if i thought they may have been speeding.

Alomst all of the motorists seemed to understand as i noticed them braking as they drove pass me.

One of the other drivers even raised his hand to thank me.

Was just wondering how many other people abide by this as its happened to me on a few occasions and has saved me a few points too.

Yeah I definatly do. I always slow down when see someone flash their lights. It has saved me some points as well. Bet the police hate it though.

I'd do it to someone who looks suitably switched on, and would get the meaning, and if they were moving at a fair pace, but i was under the impression it was illegal.

If they were in fact speeding then yes, in theory it is illegal.

Therefore, clearly no-one on here would ever do such a thing nor condone such behaviour................................

It's a shame the police can make people slow down, but if you want someone to slow down, you could get prosecuted!

Always flash people for the next half a mile (or so), I've had points saved on numerous occasions by drivers flashing me so I'm just keeping the karma going.

As it goes, I always seem to spot people I know travelling in the opposite direction when these tossers turn up.

Yep, on the A361 North Devon Link there is a great cameraderie amongst all the drivers - flashes, slow down hand signals, colleagues ring each other hands free to warn each other, and then send out group e-mails when they arrive for people who might be about to leave.
I always do it - I appreciate it when people do it for me. One time, 8 out of the ten cars coming the other way flashed me!

LOL, they had two platforms for them to park up and point their bd lasers from especially built earlier this year - to the extent they had to put in those cages filled with rocks as they wanted to be positioned at a point where the road runs along a bit of a ridge, resulting in traffic lights and delays on a major arterial route for quite some time. God knows how much that cost us.
