Probably been posted before but...what happens to registration numbers next year?
They increment by 1.I know it's an incredibly complicated system

Next year it is 10 and 61 - fact. Can't tell you why though!

March 2008 – Aug 2008 08 Sept 2008 – Feb 2009 58
March 2009 – Aug 2009 09 Sept 2009 – Feb 2010 59
March 2010 – Aug 2010 10 Sept 2010 – Feb 2011 60
March 2011 – Aug 2011 11 Sept 2011 – Feb 2012 61
and on and on...
There was a survey done last week or so which showed that hardly anyone knows truth of what is going to happen - assumption is 10,61. That is proven by a qucik google search, including registration suppliers!
The only one I can find with correct answer is autotrader. In 2010, plates will be 10 and 61, in 2020 they will be 20 and 71.

It's not rocket science. It is a rolling system of numbers...
+1Don't understand why it confuses people

OK, apologies if I was wrong. I read in last couple of weeks that numbers were not going to be what everyone was expecting (I can normally add 1+1
)
Autotrader seems to have picked this up as well, but if DVLA says different, they should know, hopefully!

From Autotrader: "September 2001 = 51, March 2002 = 02, September 2002 = 52, etc. In 2010, the numbers are 10 and 61, in 2020 they are 20 and 71, and so on."
