greedy DVLA

Just had an email offering minniscule discounts on very expensive private number plates, It also states that the DVLA will make £80 million from No 10 plates,
What the f*"#k do they do with the money.


Their online serice has been down twice in the last 6 weeks ,both times for 5 days ( for essential maintenance )
For f##k's sake a private company would be bankrupt with that amount of downtime,and when you try to complain online - "sorry we could not procces your request", a#se holes

They bought it at a sealed bid DVLA auction, and here's the kicker, since it wasn't due for normal release they requested that the DVLA enter it into the auction. It went in with a reserve of £250 and they bid over £1,000 Needless to say they won, but I don't think they understood how sealed bid auctions worked.

my dad has been after a plate for 30 years, it was never issued. i rang up about it and they said the'd put it in seald bid auction, which he was happy with, starting @ £250... we receive the paperwork, lo an behold, a starting price of £300... nice easy £50 for the dvla, plus fees! i want another un-released plate, same as his except for the first digit, but dotn want to be stung for £450 after fees

You seem to forget how much investment went in hospitals , schools and so on . I can remember when I was 14 we had to bring our own footballs for PE , studied with buckets 2 ft away from me and so on . I recently been to my old school and now , its all brand new with gates , 3 new buildings and brand new dedicated IT room , music room , art room and so on . Hospitals the same , they do look much better . Im still not convinced that they provide better services but not sure if its anything do with the government .
