Who drives with sunglasses?

Anyone have polarised lenses?

If I get contacts, I'll be able to get non prescription sunglasses for a change (hurrah!). smile

Polarised lenses seem to be quite a bit more expensive, worth the cost for the reduced glare/reflection?

Which sunglasses do you have (if any)?

I was thinking of Ray Ban Aviators, classically cool and all that malarkey.

I have some polarised oakleys. Great sunglasses. Big challenge though is with them on my satnav/radio etc screen looks black. (BMW) May be wise to try some cheapies first.

yes Had mine done 6 years ago and its the best money I've EVER spent!

As for sunglasses I've got a pair of these http://www.oakley.com/pd/5542 in burnt copper with black iridium lense. You can really notice the difference with the polarized lense and the titanium frame is so light you hardly know you've got them on!

Polarised Maui Jims. The only problem is that I have to turn up the brightness of the HUD and I can't see the Road Angel on the rare occasions on which I use it these days.

One of the Oakley lens options is fantastic for driving (i think its designed for driving/sailing).

Its called amber gradient or something, cant quite remember.

But its graduated from top to bottom. In other words, it blocks out the bright sunlight coming through the top of your windscreen, but its light enough to see your dash through properly.

Regarding trying cheapies I bought Foster Grants from Halfords and have been happy with them (Ranging from £15-£25 as I recall).

The first pair I keep handy exclusively just for the bike as they're great in a huge range of light. The digital read out is a little warped of course as people have mentioned.

Bought a second pair to live in the car.

I've considered the laser eye surgery but tbh I've never found glasses 'that' inconvenient, plus if it all went wrong...I'm quite fond of my eyes.

Good thinking wrt to the graduated tints. Luckily I have no Sat Nav and the radio interaction is minimal.

Polarised lenses are £25 extra on the Ray Bans.

Had a quick look at the Oakley frames, have to admit, not my cup of tea. Plus...

Another vote for Serengetis, I've got prescription ones now, they're a revalation, absolutely amazing, the clarity and definition are just amazing. The only downside is the price, with my lenses made up the retail price was somewhere between £4-500! If you're wearing contacts under then the plano lenses will do, from £150 ish upwards.

Its only the O-matter frames (particularly with irdium lenses) that give the 'cock' look.

Get metal frames from the 'wire' type ranges.

The build quality and customer service on Oakleys is outstanding.

Couldn't agree more on my second pair of Polarized Juliets and loving them! Got to be Oakleys!

IMHO they look just as cockish as the Oakleys you posted above.
