So I was just driving back from a friends following a new shape M3. He and I were in a road works section of the local motorway and sat behind lorries doing 40mph, so we were doing about 33mph (must be odometer variance!). Any way the 40 restriction ends just before you pop into a short tunnel, and having clocked the guy at the lights just previous I could tell he was in a hurry/going to floor it..... Right I thought, not only do I get to blast the tunnel (standard practice!) I also get the chance to hear a M3 at full chat and possibly, just possible get a little jump on him to make him clench before he buries the loud pedal...

Well I didn’t get any sort of *jump*, and he fecked off like a scalded cat practicing its stealth acceleration..... no noise, no V8 hitting 8k rpm with my little CTR screaming behind.... nothing, just a squeal of tyres, and the clatter of a 335D with the M-Tech pack..... In the low light and on a wet car, I had not made out the letters... how utterly gutting.....

My little story...

Gwiz

(no doubt them there oil burners can shift though....)

Fail because you thought it was an M3.

Shocking. A diesel that looks good and can go quickly, it's just not on is it ?

How long before people stop moaning about diesels and just accept that times have changed?

I think you have missed the point.

It sounds completely ste..... no matter how good it looks and how fast it goes it still sounds ste.

It's like seeing a fit bird and then hearing a scouser accent.

Just not on...
