Okay, I'm not going to say (yet) what I've been considering as I want as many varied opinions as possible smile But criteria are:

- absolute max price £35k and fairly depreciation proof
- preferably soft top, though i could be persuaded otherwise
- 0-60mph < 6 secs i.e. 200bhp/ton +
- must be fun on a track for the odd track day
- it's a weekend car only i.e. not for commuting, but want to be able to do road trips in it
- servicing costs not really an issue
- must always be an event to drive, even if going 25mph

Okay, shoot!

Any thoughts much appreciated smile

EDIT: posted here as I want a varied view, not just opinions from one particular makes forum smile

Get an S2 Elise which has already had a supercharged Honda K20 engine installed. That'll have twice your power/weight requirement. biggrin

Or maybe a Noble.

If you wanted to spend your max budget and maybe a bit more, Ferrari 355.

Otherwise, with lots of change left over I too would say Elise. Had mine for 18 months and 10,000 miles has been fairly depreciation proof and so much fun.

Off the wall idea, but is a LCC Rocket around 35k?

Would certainly be an event every time you get it out, would think pretty damn depreciation proof, and would be pretty good around the track!

It seems to be Flemke's weekend warrior, and it's not like he hasn't got a few to choose from!

Although looking at your profile (sorry!) it may not be the sort of thing you're after...

It's not a soft top but I know these would be high on my list if I had that sort of cash burning a hole in my pocket.

A great choice but such a shame that by the end of next week its value will be below 20k.

However, if you were to say this...

maybe you are thinking f355 spider. or maybe a 348 summat like that.

i reckon something 996tt would be good and more 'useable' but i don't personally like the look of the cab.

Morgan Aero 8. If you can find one, you can pick up one of the very early ones for £35k - £40k. They are incredibly difficult to find though!
