My father wants a pair for xmas.

I wear mine on a long journey- all of my mates think its stupid.
(and an attempt to look like steve mcqueen)
More like some of the extras in towering inferno i reckon but hey, is it okay to wear them, or does it shout ponce to the world?

I have a pair of leather gloves which stay in the car....but I hate driving with them on. The wheel just feels sticky whilst wearing them.

I don't see it as any different to me whacking on a pair of Marigolds or studded, fingerless, leather full arm length gloves for a couple of my other leisure activities.

Definitely cock. I have a pair too, although they make it difficult to fiddle with the touchscreen on my ipod (legally mounted!).

They are a little Alan Partridge, but I love them smile

I, er, had some given to me when I had my MGB GT. Thought they were naff at first but got to like them as the car's heater was pants.

Long since lost, thankfully :hehe;

Then you should clean them after using them for 'other activities' in the car. Less residue.

Do you still only wear one at a time and make 'gangsta' hand poses?

I have some white leather driving gloves!!!!! I use them when I've been doing work on track & can't get the grime out of my skin as I have an Ivory leather steering wheel that gets mucky easily.

Don't were them often though as I feel a tosser when I'm wearing them.

I saw a Saxo being driven to within an inch of its life through town the other day. When it stopped at the lights I saw the driver was wearing a pair of No Fear racing gloves. At first I thought it must be Michael Schumacher at the wheel but on closer inspection it turned out to be a tt.

In a track car with no windscreen in the freezing cold, maybe ok, and on a track day, yes.

Otherwise, cock I'm afraid.

Nail, head there! They were there to combat the crap heaters of old cars, we don't have that problem anymore (unless you count the decade it takes a diesel cars heater to blow warm air) so anyone seen wearing them these days must be considered a plonker, unless of course said car is older than me!

In fairness the old fella suffers with his hands- carpeltunnel syndrome (i think) combined with broken fingers from rugby and cricket years ago.

With regards branding, its more likely to be Dunhill than No Fear.

But, even if his hands hurt, if the PH consensus says he will look like a cock, then no gloves it is.
