Audi TT Window Reset

Is there such a thing?

When I try to wind the windows up, they stop 3 or 4 times.

I have to take my finger off the switch and press it again.

Any ideas?

Vauxhalls you hold the button on the up position until it goes all the way up, then continue to hold it for at least 4 seconds. Should be similar on other cars.

Bit of silicone spray in the seals will help too.

I tried the BMW way of holding the buttons when windows were down, I'll try your way next.

Any definitive answers?

VAG-Com (if you've got a copy) simply reset it in the ECU

windows all the way down
windows allthe way up, let go of switches
push them up again and hold for 3-5 seconds

Were not sure if this correct, but on some VW's full closure with the alarm fob i.e. press close button on fob until everything shuts, then keep button pressed for a few more seconds, has been known to do this

If more VAGS (even does later Bentleys and Lambo's) are going to pass through Chez Paoloh, a copy of VAG-Com would make some sense (approx £150)

Its a program, with an OBD connector doohdad (that has a licenceing thingy in it), it can be run on almost any laptop/PC

Nearly.

Igntion on. Better with Car running.
Press and hold button all the way down.
When it hits the bottom stop. Release the button then press and hold it down again. Should hear a faint "click"
Manually hold all the way up.
When its fully up. Release and then press and hold UP again. Again a slight click.

That's nearly ALL VAG cars BTW.

If that doesnt work. Sometimes it's got too confused.

Get out. Shut door put key in lock and hold to 3 o clock position until all windows have dropped to bottom.
Then turn key all the way to 9 o clock and hold until all windows have shut.

If that;s not having it either. Disconnect battery for 5 mins then repeat. Make sure you have radio code first

Hi there conscious that this post is quite old but just wondering if you can give some guidelines on how to do this with Vag-Com. I've got a friend who has a coy and would like to help me with the window reset. I recently got some work done on my TT and the garage removed the battery for 5 days. Cheers
