Long story short, but my VW Touran is loosing water. Main dealer cant find anything wrong and they want £500 to take the cylinder head off next to have a look.
I called up VW HQ today who said the best they could do was to give me this link: https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showHome.do;jses...

Apparently this will show me if my car had a problem that has been recalled or a known issue.

So does anyone have access to this? or can anyone tell me if my money will be well spent if i go on here?

What engine is it ?

edit checked your profile, with the 2.0tdi ive seen on a number of a3's the head cracked at a particular location (which i cant remember causing coolent loss) if was never a campaign or recall but audi had acknowledged through DISS reports that it was an issue that had been seen previously

I'd be interested about this as well. Has anyone ever done a group session on there (one person gets paid a little bit from a few different people to look up some information)?

JR@ - Great job - its a 2.0tdi (140bhp).
All i would need to know is that they are aware of the problem. This would give me a good case for getting help to pay for the fix.

Any idea what they have ruled out? EGR's are common, water pump, various coolant flanges etc

Might be worth popping the plastic cover off from the passenger front, side of the centre console. Kind of under neath the glovebox and radio area. Look at the metal pipes for the heater matrix. See if they are clean and shiny or covered in white residue. We had a guy about to pull a head off until we checked that. Good job too! biggrin
