Pull up to a small (not quite a mini) roundabout, car number 3 from the give way line. Car number 1 pulls out, jumps on brakes for no good reason. Car number 2 gently bumps (and I do mean gently bumps) car number 1. Man in car number 1 grabs back of neck, opens door, falls out of car and screams at the top of his voice 'please get me an ambiwlans' (while clutching back of neck).

His neck is so badly injured that he is capable of driving to a more suitable position to wait for the ambulance to survey his 'injuries' so he can put in a compo claim.

Car 2 should have been looking where she was going. She hit him, so, 'her fault'. He braked for no good reason, reacted so smoothly it could only have been planned. She is too polite to a: admit he should never have braked for no good reason and b: take my advice of, ahem, 'tell that insurance-thieving prick to fk right off'.

Why would someone who is quite clearly being set up defend the person so obviously setting them up?

This.

AND I hope you gave your details to the other party to act as a witness.

The same reason that some (thankfully few) people on here defend the culture, because when it is "their turn", they also want some 'compensaaaayshun init'

I like to earn my money honestly, not steal it from the pockets of others while acting like a drama queen.

If you are in a position to do so, make sure you try to do everything in your power to stop the scammer from doing their thing...

Assuming she wasn't in on it.

Driver no 2 is probably his girlfriend, in a company car, so no direct cost to her.

If I didn't have a hungry 8 month old sat behind me screaming I would definetely have put in more 'fk you you premium-increasing kind of effort'.

Unfortunatly his enthusiasm for the scam, her submissive attitude, my inability not to punch these robbing tts and my daughters selfish inability not to scream when she wants her nosh prevented me from doing what I would otherwise have done.

Contact the police all the same! There is no legitimate reason why she would refuse a witness statement, especially seeing him behave that way. Somethings fishy

I have no reg numbers and can't actually remember what car's were involved (except that the car being hit was a red toyota yaris) - it's been a busy day and now i'll have to resign the whole thing to my book of 'things that annoyed me at the time but didn't have the time/chance to deal with but wish I had now because as the day passed it's pissed me off more and more'.

I would not have hit him. Still far too paranoid / aware of car(s) in front.

They can trace it with the information you have.

Do it - it won't take too long and you'll be helping stop this kind of fraud.

Do this. Plod may run it around the insurance companies, given that you're indicating it as a scam. Or they might get in contact.

Or nothing might happen. But at least you did your bit.
