There's a rather tasty looking Aston on the road as he travelled between the Palace and Downing Street.

Camerons was a 2010 plate fully armoured jobby, note the large areas of black to disguise the strengthened bodywork and thicker glass. What amused me is Winky got the older model 2000 reg W plate with less armour. He's already goneee.......

The new XJ would not be ready in time with the..ahemm.. security deatures required. I would expect to see him in one very soon though.

It is on Jaguar 'Custom' 19" wheels which were optional on the pre-facelift, previous XJ. Notably, it is a pre-facelift model although it is registered on a '10' plate, probably as it is armoured.

19" looks ever so slightly 'blingy' on that Jag shape.

Wouldn't smaller wheels and bigger profile tires be better from a vehicular survival POV?

Arent they unique; as opposed to run of the mill armoured manufacturers vehicle? Old ones are crushed certainly. The new light blue car is less subtle than the older PMs car, with the tinting drawing attention to the doors' depth rather than camouflaging it. It was less noticable on the older cars, even in black with a tan trim...

I was amazed he didn't have Police outriders on the way to and from Buckingham Palace. Quite bizarre to see cyclists over- and undertaking the Jag!

Yep, too right- I noticed the starstruck lentilist gaily undertaking as they turned into Downing Street, before being clotheslined by the PC!

Yep I was wondering about that.. wasn't the facelift in late 2007?

It's funny, cause all campaign he's been running around in an XF. Which I think is a vastly superior car imagewise (young and thrusting) to the (old) XJ.

Regarding security, I'm sure he'll get it all. But he doesn't strike me as so self important as Brown or Blair, so it might be a more discreet presence in comparison. Could be just what we need tbh.

On a related note, boiled my piss that Alistair (Spin) Campbell said that Labour had left the country far better than when they had taken power. Blatent lie, backed up by every think tank in the country. And as ever, when Labour leave power going back to the early 1900's they always leave the country in a mess! Now watch them in opposition claiming within 2 weeks that the new admin is a failire as they haven't turned the country round in 14 days! rolleyes
