Rotating car wash brush?
Discussion
Due to an ever painful back, I suffer with severe muscle spasms after cleaning the car anywhere below about knee height.
While it would be sacrilege to many, what are the PH massive's views on car wash brushes such as the Hozelock rotating brush?

No jetwash cleans a car properly, they just loosen the top layer of cack - so I need to find a way to wash the cars without ending up in agony for the next 4 or 5 hours so something with a long handle has to be the solution and the hose attached version is a natural progression from that.
I would never ever use a garage car wash or the 'oiks round the corner'.
I am getting physio for the back problem but suspect my 55 years of old age are a contributory issue.
I eagerly await your replies and suspect a wide difference of opinions and am flinching in anticipation.

Using a decent foam wash from a pressure washer will remove most of the dirt and then you can get a number of mitts etc on handles to allow you not to bed your legs.
Look at how they clean trucks, coaches, caravans, American motorhomes etc. All of the kit is out there, do you need some help with website?

Have you tried bending your knees?

Don't even start on my knees
And I needed my glasses to read the small print
The Hozelock brush idea seemed OK until you see how few flat areas there are on a car where it would be any use.
I could always use the patio cleaner blaster that I just bought - might need a respray after though.
Let's face it, I'm a physical wreck so I making the most of everything while I can still do it.
My wife even offered to wash the cills and wheels but that wouldn't be fair as she could be making me coffee and bacon sandwiches.
Time for a web trawl with a cup of coffee.
Thanks for the replies.
I would look at the autobrite direct wesite for the kit that you need.

I have one of those power wash brushes and they don't really work.
Get one of these... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...
The OCD brigade will tell you it scratches the paint, but I've never has any issues. They take a lot of effort out of washing the car.

I wasn't taking the pi$$ with my suggestion of a litter picking type tool. The hospital gave me one when I left in a full body brace and couldn't bend (Broke several vertebrae)
I still have one, the only equipment they gave me I didn't want to hand back. Very useful, though I wasn't washing cars at the time...

Pi$$ not taken, I did look at them in B&Q yesterday but wasn't sure how useful they would be on the car washing front.I still have one, the only equipment they gave me I didn't want to hand back. Very useful, though I wasn't washing cars at the time...

I am definitely NOT OCD about my cars (even the Tiv) I just want an easy life when washing three of the damn things.
However hard you try, you will still get scratches and anyway, just driving around with all the c**p on the roads soon scratches it.

You get used to using one and can do alot once you have "the nack" - but like was said, not sure how useful one would be for car washing.
If your back gets bad do buy one, very handy to have around the house and should only cost a couple of quid.
I use one of the hand held 'brushes' that connect via a hozelock link. has a spray setting and brush setting, both with/without foam. I give th car a good prewash with the spray water only, then do the a gentle rub down with the brush, Egg sucking time, start at top and the dirt at the bottom end is good and loose byth time you get down there, then foam, rinse and thats it,. I did have arotating brush,bu found the only downside was ctching the pole/handle on the bodywork, and continually adjusting theangle of the brush.
Oh and the brush is also used occasionally on the Royce. no marks left, and the bristles are soft, would do the cat with it... Now to find a cat
