Another what car thread. Like we dont have enough of these on here anyway haha.

Rules are simple.

Any mass production car from the 80's. Has to be used as a daily driver for life.
You have to pay fuel, but no other running costs i.e service costs, MOT's etc.

Also if you can remember any, were there any optional extra's you'd have taken from what the manufacturer was offering at the time?

(:

Does it have to remain factory standard? If not then my practical choice is a 1st-gen Legacy RS turbo, suitably upgraded from the original 220bhp.

If I decide I don't need the space then oh, maybe a 959. biggrin

Only one lifelong motor for me:

Black leather upholstery, not bothered about the rest of the spec. Digital or manual instruments. Could even be LHD if it were old enough.

For me, that would be easy.

1988 or 1989 Mercedes 300SL. Reliable Cruiser may not provide all the thrills but as a daily driver will do just fine. Other cars that maybe more fun, a Golf GTi, e30 325i or M3, BMW Z1 or 911 SSE but I don't think I would want to run any of those over a 300SL as a daily driver.
