hi people ive had a letter from dvla sayibg they taken me to court as i ment to be driving my s o r n car in an area which is 17 mile away from my home with wate for it with no engine. what can i do i have photos of my car as its has taken me 10mth to put it in

Write back to them (recorded delivery) asking for proof, point out that it would be impossible that it was your car as you've had your car off road with the engine out for 10 months.

It could simply be someone else using your reg, or a DVLA clerical error where they've typed or been given the wrong details.

I had a court letter for not renewing SORN. Thinking they were talking about the other car I argued it was now taxed etc etc. I then saw they were correct and that I had forgotten to renew the SORN on the 2nd car- then paid the fine and all was dropped. The point is, be very specific about dates and details, don't be caught out- these guys have little to lose.
