Well that's upset my equilibrium
So here's a small hammer to make everyone feel better.

Yes, I know the inside bits were by MB Games, rather than MB Gmbh, but I've got a thing for V8 Estates at the moment.

I can't find that Alpina Touring. Surely a better bet than the dody Merc? So here's a small hammer to make everyone feel better.

I'm in an Italian kind of mood:

Not priced.
What do we think? Is a Muira SV now half a million quid?

What about the E38, Len? Not the 12 banger, just the 6 or 8?
I like smooth things, so 6 or 12 for personal preference. If 8, then the always larger of the two, the smaller has far closer to the performance of the 6, but with practically the same fuel use and upkeep cost of the big-un.For m-way mile munching in comfort, there's nowt wrong with a 2.8 at all, it can deal with normal traffic easily enough when sufficient rpms are roused, in the manner of all BMW I6s, whilst returning some very sensible fuel figures (34mpg over the 4,000 miles I ran one last year, never under 27, hovers at 40 at the legal cruise). I then ran a 735i, no substantial difference in performance (although the V8 noise is never unappealing, it lacks in refinement cf. the I6s). Never enough torque to hand for the noise though, fuel can knock off 7 in each instance).
Haven't run a 740i as by that point the V12 just holds far more sway over the Sybarite in me. Had a demo one for a short while just prior to the E65 launch and fuel economy and performance to me are inseparable between the 40i & 50i, but the manner in which it is delivered is noticeably different. Depends if you're more swung by mooching along on torque at low rpm/high speed cruising and near-silent running in normal use or more likely to punt around twistier roads and don't find redline chasing at odds with such a car and waking up the motor to hear a bit of V8 roar.
The 740i makes a compelling case for itself as having very decent performance, being more wieldy than the heavier V12 cars, so in most ways better suited to a "press on" driver, less mechanically complex (in terms of suspension complexity by not being SLS and not having two of nearly everything), so less potential for histrionics IMO.

C55, I approve of the barminess therein - whereas C32, buckets of meh.
I broke a C32.Like really broke it.
Totally nuked the gearbox after 3 laps at KH.
I wasn't popular after that.
