Evening all, a customer of mine needs to make some room in his garage and has decided that the Golf VR6 has to go, it's a 1996 on a P plate, not a highline because he didn't like the coulors available when he bought it new! Full leather, air-con, cd changer in boot, the car is in red (non mettalic), but best of all it has only covered 2500 miles! No, I havnt missed a zero out the mileage is correct and can be proved! It is in immaculate condition on original Tyres etc and has regular oil and filter changes regardless of use! What sort of price would one of these with the low miles fetch? Would surely be a concours winner? Sorry for long post and poor grammar!

I fear you may get some "incoming" for this post. There are endless, free, easy resources online for working out what a car is worth and it just sounds like you're trying to get an advert in without paying for a classified.

I can assure you it's not my car to sell! Just thought the low mileage would make it difficult to price, I even thought that some may see the lack of use as a disadvantage?

Bit of a one off to be fair. Probably worth looking at more specialist websites. Sorry but bit out of touch with the be scene.

Classifieds free on here last time I looked

I wouldn't want to drive around on the original tyres for a start.

Aye. Probably dodgy P6000s.

5 or 6 thousand, i'd have thought, but finding the buyer might take a while.

As far as I know it's had yearly oil and filter changes, it has been kept garaged it's whole life too, I was afraid it would be around the 5-6k mark, that puts it well outside my price range!

Best place to ask IMO, nothing wrong with it.

I'd say 5k. guy near me has a similar miles 1994 mr2, had it up for £6800 no luck but dropped it to £5500 and got plenty of interest. just takes the right person who wants something with a bit of character rather than a boring 04 tdi for the same money.

It's probably worth posting on a couple of the "specialist" sites to see what interest there is. Perhaps worth testing the water at edition38.com and clubgti.com

A quick Google turns up many with prices - but a PH poster might be inclined to start here
