Pininfarina Finishes Unique 'New Stratos'

Wealthy German car nut Michael Stoschek last week finally took delivery of the unique Pininfarina-reimagined Lancia Stratos at the company's HQ in Turin

Stoschek must have been chuffed to finally get hold of the car, which has been in development for two years.

The New Stratos was engineered almost from scratch by Pininfarina; even though it uses the engine, chassis and drivetrain from a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, both chassis and engine have been significantly modified.

Although exactly how modified the car has been we don't yet know; Pinifarina will announce the full technical and performance specification for the New Stratos at a later date.

There are rumours, among those of an optimistic persuasion, that Pininfarina might do a limited production run of the New Stratos, too, but for now it remains a solidly unique creation.

So don't crash it, Herr Stoschek...

Given the amount of money that guy must have paid, I'd have expected it to be drop dead spanking gorgeous. It isn't. Tbh, looks more like a dubious kit car.

Should have started with a MK 1 MX5 rather than the 430 then it would have been able to have them!

It's got that 'Sorry I just farted' look on it's face, the F40 does this too, although the F40 looks more like 'Sorry I just burped' - it's not as apologetic looking.
These cars should sort out their attitude to bodily functions.

By the way, Mr. Stoschek, what's about a production run?

500 to 1000 units would sell. If officially reliability tested, endorsed and distributed by LANCIA, probably a number closer to 5000 units will find buyers.

Just show the the fans a couple of Sandro Munari video clips at some Motor Shows and off they go.

Ford sold 4000 units of the Ford GT like hot cake.

.... wonder what the weight will be. Sub 1300kgs maybe (the scuderia weighs 1350kgs) with an engine of at least 500bhp should see it way over 400bhp/ton
