DVLA website down - Want to buy a plate...

Anyone got a contact number to call the dvla? Want to buy an 11 plate today.

Trying to do the same, they don't have call centres any more though.

Good isnt it - they want to relieve the public of millions of £ but the service to do it doesnt work. And they will all sell anyway, they just dont make it easy for people.

The 11s are only available to buy online. Not sure why as when I bought a 56 plate I did it on the phone on the day of release.

Yesterday it gave a price and told me how to buy ( 8.30 am 7th December). - now it says that sorry this plate is unavailable. How do i know if they are going to auction it off or if someone else has purchased it?

A plate trader already tried selling it to me for £35,000- Yes thats right. I told him to go stick it.

Do plate traders get preference at the DVLA for plates or are they clicking refresh constantly too...

I'm trying also, frustration is that somehow Regtransfersforyou offered me the plate via text for £3k more a month ago???

No this was a week ago- Even when they could not have physically owned the plate. How do they get to do this.

Companies like Regtransfers always offer people plates speculatively before release / auction, even though they dont have them to sell.

I also read they had some software thing to auto-buy lots of plates from the DVLA this morning (think it was on their website).
