...drive more slowly! The red line is now only going to used for special occasions [think I sold my Integra at the right time as that was like driving with a devil on your shoulder] and motorway driving is now going to be 3k revs or less affair smile

My 60 miles a day commute means I can't totally ignore it - but I am kind of looking forward to a more relaxed style of driving!

I've got to be honest, my daily commute has been more and more sedate over the past 12 months, aiming for maximum mpg. It's become a challenge to be honest.

However, one 10 minute blast in the TVR on any given weekend redresses the balance. And some. thumbup

I bought a less economical car because I liked it. I haven't quite got the idea of saving fuel have I?

You're going to be pleasantly surprised. 65mph versus 80mph will add just a few minutes to your commute and you'll arrive far more relaxed and better off. As you trundle along in the left hand lane take a moment to look at the idiots in the outside lane who race up to the back bumper of the car in front, slam on the brakes, force them to pull over and then blast off again. It's something you only see from the slower lanes. Stupid, stressful and a waste of money.

Sold a 300bhp car for a 130bhp diesel to save money. Never got chance to use the 300bhp anyway, what with the heavy traffic on my commute to and from work, and every other time i've got the Mrs sat next to be telling me to slow down.

Gone from an average of 25mpg to 40mpg. But I now drive a car that sounds like a tractor.

I've also bought a 1.0 Seat Arosa. Will be interesting to see which is the cheapest on fuel.
