I had to get a taxi around the M25 from Gatwick to Stanstead recently very late at night. The driver just stayed in the middle lane all the way around the M25, I was too tired and polite to question him about it but it pissed me off no end

I must admit I see it an awful lot and it annoys me too, not just fellow cabbies though all the other numpties who hog the middle lane, when ever I'm lucky enough to do an airport or long distance run I drive as I would with my wife in the car nice steady 60-65mph, I would much rather leave a little earlier and get there comfortably than scare the bejesus out of propective future business.

Can't stand most taxi drivers myself!

My own little anecdote - was in a cab in Chesterfield about to pull out of a T- junction. Car approaching from the right doesn't indicate but then turns, prompting some comment from the driver. I couldn't be bothered to point out the irony that we were sat there with no indication whatsoever, as had been the case for most of the journey!!

Taxi drivers are some of the best outside lane hogs IME. Usually driving a Ford MPV at 80. Completely oblivious or just don't give a st.

I drive past Gatwick and on to just before Heathrow to work and there's always a Taxi or 6 MLMing at about 60, I have no idea why they think it's a good idea, at 60 you can do most of that journey in lane 1 apart from an occasional overtake.
