I have a BMW which has a after market face plate with a Pioneer CD player.

So I am after something a little more modern, MP3 and Ipod compatible but it must not be too flashy I want it to look like it should be there...

Also if it has a red display that would be perfik!

suggestions? Oh and not to pricey!

Alpine CDE-113BT. iPod, USB, Bluetooth phone built in, red illumination. All for less than £150.

This. I recommend it every time. It has a Parrot bluetooth unit in too.

As above, I've an Alpine (CDE-9980 I think) in the E46. Lighting is close enough to the cars own, USB and Ipod cable can run into the glovebox keeping it clean looking. Adaptors are available for the steering wheel controls as well.

I have one for sale which is little used (had it in my MX5) if anyone is interested. Comes with the proper iPod cable too. I loved it, but the M5 has a OEM thing so I don't need it anymore.

I had an Alpine one in a previous car that was about £130 and very good. Just bought my missus a JVC one with iPod control and bluetooth calling for £109 from Halfords. Incidentally it's £159 in the stores! I went in store, then went online on my phone, did reserve and collect and saved £50!

If it was for me I'd go for an Alpine, but as a cheap solution to ipod and handsfree for the wife's car, the JVC is adequate.

Yep, had one in my old 328, but sold it with the car. Excellent bits of kit.
